Aircraft Interiors Engineer  with Focus on "Fire Suppression" "Oxygen"  "Waste Water"

NOTE: Our Client is a major International Air Carrier. (PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR CLIENT HAS MAINTENANCE HUBS IN OTHER STATES SUCH AS NORTH CAROLINA, TENNESSEE ,TEXAS, AND OTHERS)


The Aircraft Interiors Engineer develops and modifies engineering documents needed to keep our Client's fleet of aircraft interiors safe, compliant to regulatory requirements, and configured to the needs of the Air Carrier. This individual also provides‘real time’ troubleshooting assistance for in-service issues. Expertise in the areas of Oxygen Systems and Fire Suppression Systems 
Areas of responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to following:
  • Expertise in the areas of Oxygen Systems and Fire Suppression Systems 
  • Interior configuration and arrangement
  • Installation and modification of cabin/flight compartment furnishings.
  • Seats, lavatories and Galleys
  • Ceilings, overhead stowage units, passenger service units.
  • Sidewall lining, insulation and panels
  • Flooring covering, raceways and escape path lighting
  • Doors and slides
  • Emergency equipment
  • "Design of Cargo systems"
 
What are some of the daily duties of an Aircraft Interiors Engineer?
  • Expertise in the areas of Oxygen Systems and Fire Suppression Systems 
  • Create and modify LOPA drawings.
  • Create and modify Engineering Orders as required to comply with regulatory requirements and company needs.
  • Review Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins and other source documents to determine applicability and provide accomplishment recommendations.
  • Develop solutions to in-service aircraft interior issues which may impact the flight schedule.
  • Coordinate engineering activities as needed with other internal Air Carrier departments such as:
    • Materials/Purchasing
    • Maintenance Planning
    • Maintenance Control
    • Heavy Maintenance
    • Finance
  • Respond dynamically to the request from maintenance or any other company departments to resolve technical issues.
  • Serve as a Technical Expert for Interior items.
  • Coordinates with the FAA, OEM, or other Air Carrier departments to assist with implementation of engineering documents.
  • Assist with CASP analysis and development of reliability initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager
  • Knowledge of FAR regulations related to interiors, and other government requirements for passenger safety and accommodation.
  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University in engineering, engineering sciences, aeronautics or related discipline
OR
  • High School diploma plus FAA Airframe and Powerplant ratings and six (6) years of Air Carrier aircraft interiors engineering experience
OR
  • High School Diploma and twelve (12) years of Air Carrier aircraft interiors engineering experience
 
  • Preferred:
    • Five (5) years Air Carrier related experience in aircraft interiors engineering
    • Airframe & Powerplant certification, Pilot License or FCC License preferred

  • Working knowledge of Aircraft and Component Maintenance Manuals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi task
  • Good communication skills
  • Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
  • Must have authorization to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigrations Act of 1986
