We are currently seeking a Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG) with substantial experience in the geotechnical industry to join a dynamic team.

 

Position Overview:

The Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG) will play a critical role in geotechnical projects, particularly those involving hillside grading and complex geological conditions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in geotechnical engineering and geology, with a focus on hillside grading projects. This position requires a deep understanding of geological processes, soil mechanics, and the ability to develop and implement effective engineering solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed geological and geotechnical investigations for various projects, with a focus on hillside grading.

  • Analyze and interpret geological, geophysical, and geotechnical data to develop engineering solutions.

  • Prepare comprehensive geological and geotechnical reports, including maps, cross-sections, and recommendations.

  • Collaborate with project managers, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Provide expert geological advice and recommendations for construction, remediation, and mitigation projects.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.

  • Perform field inspections and assessments, including soil sampling, slope stability analysis, and site monitoring.

  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.

  • Mentor and guide junior geologists and engineers within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG) certification is required.

  • Professional Geologist (PG) certification is highly preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the geotechnical industry, with significant experience in hillside grading projects.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, soil mechanics, and geological processes.

  • Proficiency in geotechnical software and tools for analysis and design.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present complex technical information clearly.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Valid California driver’s license and the ability to travel to project sites as needed.
